What is the purpose of HOSA?
Perth & Kinross is a very popular place to live.
Unfortunately there is a limited availability of affordable housing to rent. On average around 1,000 properties become available for rent each year from the main three housing providers in Perth & Kinross (Council, Caledonia and Hillcrest Housing Association). However, there are approximately 3,000 households on the Common Housing Register. This means that we are not in a position to offer a property to everyone who applies for housing and we have to prioritise the people or households with the highest level of housing need which could be in terms of homelessness, medical needs, overcrowding etc.
Whilst there is more demand than supply, there are some areas which have a good turnover of vacancies and where the waiting-list is smaller so we may be able to allocate you a property even if you have a relatively low level of housing need. This usually only applies to smaller properties - one or two bedrooms - and examples of these areas are Blairgowrie, Rattray and Crieff.
This tool has been created to assist you in finding out all the housing options that are available to you. By answering questions relating to your household size, tenure, income, etc. this helpful housing options self-assessment, will provide you with a personalised summary of the housing options that are suitable to you.
At the end of the assessment, you will be provided with an Action Plan (which you can email or print off) which provides details on the next steps you may wish to take to help resolve your housing situation.

On average it takes between 10 to 15 minutes to enter your personal information. You may then want to take time to read through your options, but remember you can come back to your Case anytime by using the unique reference number the system will provide and print out your Action Plan for reference.

Please note that completing HOSA does not mean that you have applied for housing with the three main housing providers in Perth & Kinross. Instructions on how to do this are provided in the Social Housing information page and your Action Plan.
How We Use Your Personal Information
The information provided by you in this self-assessment tool will be used for monitoring purposes only. The information will not be disclosed to third parties unless you go on to make an application for housing in which case, it may be necessary to share your information with third parties to properly assess your housing needs.
If you go on to submit an application for housing, the Council may check information provided by you or information about you, provided by a third party, with other information held by us. We may also get information from certain third parties or share your information with them in order to verify its accuracy, prevent or detect crime, protect pubmic funds or where required by law.
