Introduction

Welcome to Perth & Kinross Council's Housing Options Self-Assessment tool (HOSA)

21.12.18 - PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY UPDATING THIS SITE.  YOU CAN STILL USE IT BUT SOME INFORMATION MAY BE OUT OF DATE AND SOME LINKS TO EXTERNAL SITES MAY BE BROKEN. IF YOU REQUIRE URGENT ADVICE ABOUT YOUR HOUSING OPTIONS, PLEASE CALL THE HOUSING OPTIONS TEAM ON 01738 476000 (Option4).

Please take the time to read this page before you begin.  And remember, if you are using a public computer to access HOSA, please remember to log out when you finish to protect your personal details.

What is the purpose of HOSA?

Perth & Kinross is a very popular place to live.  Unfortunately there is a limited availability of affordable housing to rent and on average around 1,000 properties become available for rent each year from the housing providers in Perth & Kinross.  However, there are approximately 3,000 households on the Common Housing Register waiting list at any one time so we  are not in a position to offer a property to everyone who applies and we have to prioritise the people or households with the highest level of housing need and look into other housing options.

This tool has been created to assist you in finding out all the housing options that are available to you.  By answering questions relating to your household size, tenure, income, etc. this helpful housing options self-assessment, will provide you with a personalised summary and action plan with information on how to apply or  next steps for you to resolve your housing situation (which you can print or email).   You can also access information on benefits advice, financial and budgeting advice, employability agencies etc.

On average it takes between 10 to 15 minutes to enter your personal information.  You may then want to take time to read through your options, but remember you can come back to your Case anytime by using the unique reference number the system will provide and print out your Action Plan for reference.

If you experience any issues when using this service please call 01738 476000 (Option 4) between 8.45am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday advising your enquiry is for a Live HOSA case.

Please note that completing HOSA does not mean that you have applied for housing with Perth & Kinross. Instructions on how to do this are provided in the relevant sections of your Action Plan.
